Last night we got an email from some of our neighbors in Alpine. They sent pictures of the cabin and the snow. It looks cold to me.

Here is a little closer. By the way...there are four steps up to the cabin. It appears that the snow is still that high.
We did have a little damage. The cover over our wood pile collapsed.
Last weekend our friend Terry took Monty for a ride in his airplane. They were both excited to see what the winter storm had done across Arizona. Here are a few highlights from their trip:

The dam (and bridge) at Roosevelt Lake. Look how full the lake is. I especially like this one as it is where we spread my parent's ashes.

He is enrolled in his second training class and is working very hard at the come command and walking nicely on leash.
Simplify is my word of the year. In order to keep it up front in my mind my goal is to pick one organizational project per week. Last weekend I tackled three junk drawers. I forgot to take a before picture...but here is the after of one of them:

Here is what I am going to tackle next weekend:
It is not horrible in the picture, but badly in need of paint. My goal is to get rid of outdated and unhealthy food, paint the inside, and start a small area for food storage. Not a whole years worth...but maybe a months worth. The only guideline is that it has to be food that we eat on a regular basis so we can rotate through our normal menus.

Last week AZ broke a few records on the amount of precipitation in a 24 hour period and the lowest barometric pressure on record. Fortunately, the storm was less than predicted (although some areas were still hit hard and flooded). The north country got as much as 5 feet of new snow in just a few days. The sun is shining today, but here are a few pictures of our wet yard:

It could have been much worse...I am thankful.

No, it is not an ointment for diaper rash...just a layout I completed for the Cathy Zielske class (Design Your Life) that I am taking. The assignment was this color combo (brown, orange & pink) and to compare two people you love. Guess who has been on my mind lately.
Yesterday we went to see Avatar at the IMax Theatre with Kim & Darrell. Here we are sporting our cool shades. I enjoyed the movie more than I anticipated. Not quite sure why my tongue was sticking out.
Here is another layout for the class I am taking at Big Picture Scrappbooking. The papers are from Zoe Pern, a designer at Sweet Shoppe Designs, her line is called Cest La Vie.
This weekend last October was so much fun. Spending time with Jordyn was a highlight!
